Solveig Ylva Dagsdottir

BIO

Solveig Ylva Dagsdottir  is a scenographer and artist based in Oslo, with a BA from the Art Academy in Oslo and an MA in scenography from the Norwegian Theatre Academy. Her work takes form as performances, sculptures and sound, among other media, and often explores the quiet and overlooked in people and our surroundings. She is particularly interested in invisible structures of power that operate both privately and socially which she approaches with a sense of play and humor, in the slippage between reality and imagination. Solveig works with scenography as something that takes place in the body, emerging in close relation to its surroundings. She uses ambiguity as a tool to explore the audience’s role in perception of space and performance, and does so in an interdisciplinary practice that includes sound, text, movement and light.
